This Is My Brave was created to help society realize that for every celebrity who opens up about suffering from a mental health issue, there are millions, literally millions upon millions, of ordinary, everyday people struggling with these conditions, most suffering in silence. This event provides hope, inspiration and encouragement for everyone because with 25% of our nation directly affected by mental illness, we are all touched by this treatable yet challenging issue.
This Is My Brave, a 501(c)3 non-profit launched in 2014 to create a safe community and a platform for individuals to speak out about mental illness. The Co-Founders had been impacted by mental illness and wanted to fight the isolation and disconnection by giving people from the community a chance to share their stories on stage through poetry, music and essay.
